“Sharing the Journey” 2014
The 2014 “Sharing the Journey” Gala took place on Thursday, April 3 at the Coast Hotel and Conference Centre. Approximately 440 people filled the conference room, there to hear about the work of the Centre and to financially support this work.
Through a delicious dinner prepared by LA Chefs, we were treated to beautiful dinner music on harp, provided by Karin Barg of Simply Music. There was a lot of visiting around the tables, with people just enjoying each other’s company and a nice night out.
Lola French, the executive director of the Canadian Association of Pregnancy Support Services was there to bring greetings from CAPSS, and to congratulate Lethbridge on the opening of the Centre, and to commend all involved on a job well done. Monica Moedt, executive director of the LPCC, shared about what has been going on in the Centre since it opened. We got to hear stories of lives that have already been changed through the work being done here. One of the big treats of the evening was a performance by Michael Willems, a spoken word artist. Michael wrote a poem about the work of the Centre and why it is needed in our city, and performed it live for us. It was very powerful and very moving.
All in all, it was a wonderful evening, as well as a great success, with over $73,000 being raised for the work of the Lethbridge Pregnancy Care Centre. Big thanks to all those who came out and supported the LPCC! If you would like to donate to this important work, please visit our donation page.
