The goal of the Lethbridge Pregnancy Care Centre (LPCC) is to provide you with the emotional and practical support you need when faced with an unintended pregnancy. Our staff and volunteers are committed to serving the women and men of our community, providing compassionate care during a difficult time.
You will meet with a trained client advocate who is deeply committed to meeting the needs of anyone impacted by an unintended pregnancy, including friends and family. There can be very difficult issues surrounding an unintended pregnancy: you don’t feel ready to be a parent; not sure who you can talk to or what to say; questions about how this will affect your life; questions about the physical changes you are experiencing. Our desire is to help you explore all the options so that you can make an informed decision.
We provide free and confidential pregnancy tests. We know how hard it can be to take a pregnancy test, or to even buy the test at a store, so if you think you might be pregnant and want to know, come see us. Please note, although these tests are very accurate, we are not a medical facility and therefore the results of your test need to be confirmed by a physician.
We provide information on your options: parenting, adoption and abortion. Please note the LPCC does not provide or arrange for abortions.
We provide information about adoption agencies in Alberta. Please note the LPCC is not an adoption agency; however, we do provide referrals to Alberta adoption agencies and we will support you through the process of an adoption plan.
Confidentiality is of the utmost importance; therefore, all information is kept strictly confidential, except where required by law to report, in cases such as suspected abuse, or to act to prevent harm to self or others.
If you would like to support the Centre through volunteering, donating baby items or financial support please contact the LPCC at (403) 942-1819.
