Letter from the Board Fall 2020
First of all, a hearty thank you to everyone who has supported us via donations, gifts, prayers, or volunteered time. Your support is essential for the crucial ongoing work of the Centre for some of the most vulnerable among us, especially in these challenging COVID-19 times.
Second, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the incoming board chair. I am taking over the position after a period of able leadership from Terry Friesen and I would like to express appreciation from the entire board for Terry’s excellent service and leadership during his time as chair. I am very passionate about the work of the Centre and am excited to continue the work on the impressive foundation of those who have gone before and serving alongside the strong team that forms the board. I covet and appreciate your prayers as I take on this new position with the Centre.
Finally, as many of you are aware the Centre is saying goodbye to Monica Loewen as Executive Director this fall. Monica has led the ministry at the Centre from the very beginning and we have been very blessed by her service and leadership during that time. It would be hard to overstate the impact Monica has had on the Centre and thereby every client who walked through our doors. We are sad to see her go. However we continue to trust in God’s provision for the centre and we are confident He has great things in store. Please join us in praying for God’s blessing on Monica’s future pursuits, the health of the LPCC, and specifically that He would guide the board in our search for an Executive Director.
God bless,
Matthew Van Dyk
