5 things to do in Lethbridge while socially distancing
The warmth and long days of summer are something many people look forward to all year. However, this year it may seem hard to find things to do with the COVID-19 pandemic all around us. You want to get out of the house and make memories with your friends and family, but you want to be safe at the same time. The good news is that there are still many things to do in Lethbridge and the surrounding area! Here are five things that we’ve found to do while socially distancing.
Note: Make sure that you wear sunscreen and drink lots of water while spending time outdoors in the heat! Take breaks in the shade or an airconditioned building regularly. Have fun and be safe!
1. Go for a local Adventure
Lethbridge has many parks and trails just waiting for exploration. You may want to avoid the more popular parks like Henderson Lake and Nicholas Sheran, but there are still many hidden spots throughout the city.
Why don’t you check out Elizabeth Hall Wetlands located off of Bridge Drive and look for the turtles?
Or maybe a hike in Cottonwood park located at 2020 – 60th Avenue West?
Remember to check for ticks when finished walking in the coulees. For more information on tick safety visit: https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Health/Pages/conditions.aspx?hwid=tp23585spec
2. Pick Strawberries
Broxburn Vegetables and Café has a u-pick option if you are looking to get out and spend time, socially distanced, with loved ones. Their strawberry season is now open and typically continues into September.
